The Iseri people are descendants of Olofin Ajaye who sojourned out of Ife to the lagoon area in the ancient times. They are the first settlers in the Yoruba area of Nigeria called Lagos today.
Orisa Oniseri is a goddess of the lagoon and other water bodies around the lagoon. It is a goddess that is highly proficient in furnishing her worshippers with all necessary requirements for navigating the lagoon and other associated water bodies.
